Yay for Topps Redemptions...OR NOT
So I finally received some mail from Topps today, and I was really excited, until I opened them. First:

Definitely nothing exciting seeing as I was hoping my Jay Bruce Redhot Rookie Auto would be here, alas it was not.
And then...the big kick in the gonads:

The only cards I received for 2 teams in a blogTV group break of 06 Bowman Sterling was 2x (yes two of them) Billy Rowell redemptions. They were expired but I figured I would mail them off anyways. This is what I got:

That is tough!! The least they could have done is replaced it with something else of equal value!

It really devalues the older unopened boxes. I will never buy a product from Topps that has expired redemptions, as they use so many of them and won't honor them

yea i agree, i would love to go back and bust some stuff from 2001 etc but its just too much of a risk, unless a shop decides to liquidate the older boxes at dirt cheap prices people arent going to buy them. Imagine pulling a redemption for a Pujols Bowman chrome RC auto! I might literally die if that happened. I say eliminate the NPN and use those cards as expired redemption replacements, if the product states your required to get a certain amount of hits and you get a expired redemption it should be replaced with another hit bottom line. Its not our fault theres redemptions in the product, i realize its our responsibility to be aware of what products have expired redemptions, but what are we supposed to do not buy anymore unopened stuff of our favorite products? Seems like a bad business decision in my eyes.Last edited by fballJets; 11-07-2009 at 12:35 AM.

the fact that they had the gall to stamp them and send them back to you makes me think its not even worth it, They made a point to show that they think you mistakingly sent in expired redemptions and they have no interest in giving you anything for them, i wish it was different sorry

Nice pick ups! It's too bad Topps didn't honor your expired redemption. It was worth a shot though.
