Concussion for Drury
Most of the Rangers on the bench didn’t see the hit, but the ones who did - and some of them were upstairs - were incensed by Curtis Glencross’ blindside, away-from-the-puck hit on a helpless Chris Drury that left the Ranger captain laid out with a concussion and out of action for who knows how long. John Tortorella wouldn’t get into it when asked if the league should step in, but there’s little doubt they will - and no question they should.
And as one person around the locker room said, a lot of good that does the Rangers now. None of the four on-ice officials spotted the hit - the Rangers would have been on a five-minute power play at the time Daymond Langkow scored the game’s opening goal, but instead are left to fume.
“It’s a missed call and he’s concussed,” Tortorella said afterward. “It should have been a five-minute major and they missed it.”

Dirty hit. What gets me is the 4 other rangers on the ice did nothing. NOTHING they have done nothing all year the 10+ times Lundqvist has been slammed into NOTHING now Lundqvist has a injured Leg. My team lacks the thoughness they had last year. COUGH COUGH Colton Orr, and whats with the bumb Brashear alot good he dose us when hes not even in the lineup. Rangers need to stick up for each other or its gonna be a long season and a short playoffs.

I hope we haven't' seen Chris last game as he a talented player. Even if he does play for the Rangers hate to see anyone end their career due to concussions.

Just heard Glencross was suspended for 3 games. I'm a Flames fan until the end but the hit was 100% dirty and there is no need for that in the game. I was amazed a penalty wasn't called but it looks like the hammer has been brought down by the NHL. What does everyone think? Not enough games? Too many? Just right? I'd say 3-5 is appropriate but someone has to be made into an example and it could have been more in my opinion. As far as I know this was Glencross' first suspension so I'd say 3 games is sufficient but I do feel for Drury who has had a history of concussions. Glencross was also asked by Sutter to play with more toughness right before this incident happened but this was a steep over the line.

yea i guess that sounds about right, but if they really want to limit cheap shots then they should start giving longer suspensions.

I agree with this, but I think the main issue now is the double standard that takes place when guys like Mike Richards do the same thing. His hit was equally if not more vicious, and no suspension was handed out.

i agree, i was going to say that booth's injury was caused more from his head going down on the ice harder than normal but that was cause of richards hit so yea he should have been suspended too.
