Depends on the person...and, if you add that up, 10 trades can make a Christmas gift for someone...or buy a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner...times are tough, so trading is going to be down, especially given the time of year...

I don't know how to explain there was almost two months where I had very limited internet access because of work and only made one or two trade threads a week with little success. Then I came back with much better internet access and must of made at least 10 trades in the first couple days. Now it is back to maybe getting three or so responses to a trading thread and about half of those responses are asking for my AP NT by people who don't have a card that books over $150 in there entire bucket. I don't know if I just traded all my good cards away or what the problem has been.

i have had the same problems.
but then most of the yamon figurs cards i can pickup for 2-8 dlvd on ebay.
so i have been buying mostly. as people on sites either a want twice the sv in a trade. or think i am willing to pay twice of what it sell for on ebay.

There are a number of things involved, some of which have been brought up.
Other are:
Lazy traders. People who want a certian card or player and you list all the stuff you have that they might want and then you tell them what you want and you get the standard "CMB or check my list". So somethimes I do check and they have not 1 card of the team I want. That it laziness pure and simple.
Also- You have crap and they have gold. I had a guy offer me a 2006 Brady base GU card for my Crabtree RPM auto.
People who are just totally caught up with "value" on their cards.
Because I am a collector 1st and foremost I trade for things I like. If I like your Brady patch/100 and you want my AP Patch/50 I'll make the trade because I am getting something I want.
And FAR too many "Make me an offer" posts. If you don't know what you want to sell a card for then don't sell it. When I sell a card I usually go by an Ebay average and then subtract 10%. If a card is selling on Ebay for $40 + shipping WHY wouldn't I take $35 delivered for it and not have the hassle of ebay.
Edit: just after replying I get a PM from someone who wants to offer me $27 for my card I am selling for $35 which laready takes into account the average and the discount. These are the tools we have to deal with. And the funniest thing is I didn't even have a FS post. I offered it to another member looking for the card

I haven't been trading at all either. It's just becoming too hard to make a deal. I have only been buying. As the poster said above me, it can be sheer laziness.
