Topps Redemptions!!! They've done it again.
Well, by now I am sure everyone is familiar with all of the junk 09 Topps Signature cards, that Topps sent out for 08-09 redemptions. There were alot of people who literally got bent over because Topps lost their license for basketball. I was one of those people.
All together I had 8 redemptions for 08-09 basketball products. Some were star rookies, and others were guys who are going to ride the bench. But, there was a variety of different players. But instead Topps sent me (8) Spud Webb Topps signature cards. Yep....8. I was beyond ******, but what are you gonna do?
So, fast forward to today. I still had 2 pending 07-08 Topps finest Al Thornton RC autos. Its literally been 2 years. I'm not sure why I would expect anything different. But, today they sent me 2 cards. And they aren't even real cards out of a real set. Its a Topps Finest auto, but it is not from a set. Instead, it is a quickly thrown together card, and ACTUALLY PRINTED ON THE BACK OF THE CARD it reads..."this is a redemption replacement card, signed by the player." No numbering, or even a card number, or player stats. So, Topps just fabricated a card, to throw a sticker on...to fill the redemption.
It's pretty sad actually. Once again......screwed by Topps!
Anyways, heres a scan of the cards. (And notice, that it says its a "redemption" card from 07-08 topps finest. Yet, down at eth bottom, it is printed/copyright 2009 Topps.

Yeah, I got screwed by Topps Redemption with all my Murad rookie auto redemptions...I think 9 altogether, including one outstanding still (looks like I'll be getting one of these
).
I've gotten 3 Spud Webbs, 1 Isiah (from Signature), and 4 07-08 Scrub rookie autos like Aaron Gray, Allen Ray, etc.

That's absolutely absurd. You'd think a company like Topps, that's been manufacturing basketball cards for 50 years, would have something else in their vault instead of stickers.

Yeah, I got a Mario Chalmers Murad auto redemption, was ecstatic then was sent a similar letter and a Tony Parker auto....

And just to clarify....I think Gordon is a fine player. But, I had (2) different redemptions for 07-08 Finest, and they sent me the same card...for both. I would just like a little variety. But like posted above...it could have been another Spud Webb Topps Signature.

Sorry Topp screwed you over like that. That said, I really like that card, would you consider a trade? Please check my bucket, I have a Durant/Green Dual GU spx (they're in sonics uni though) and could add an auto or something. lmk thanks!

I redeemed 5 topps Murad autos, And I got the following:
For my Mario Chalmers silver parallel, I got a Topps Signature Isiah Thomas + 3 packs of Bowman Sterling 07-08 (which is good in my opinion)
For my Devin Harris I got a Topps Signature Spud Webb + 3 packs of Bowman Sterling 07-08 (I'm still pleased)
I redeemed these first two about a month after Murad's release.
Then for 2 Darrell Arthur redemptions, I got another 2 Spud Webb from Signature.
For another Devin Harris, I just got a JJ Reddick RC auto from Topps Finest
It kind of sucks to get stuck with 3 Spud Webb autos, but I was very pleased with the Bowman packs. I got some nice cards (like a K.Durant RC black refractor, some cool autos and GU's...) out of them.
