    EBAY Question

A friend recently sold a lot of GU cards on ebay. He is currently stationed in Canada and had a few shipping options for the buyer.

The buyer won the auction, took 3 weeks to pay for it, and chose the cheapest option with insurance or registration, just for the shipping only.

    This is shipping to Macau.

3 weeks has gone by since shipping date, but the buyer has not received it and is threatening to file a claim.

    1. the buyers's address is unconfirmed
    2. he chose cheapest shipping when 2 extra dollars would guarantee him registration/tracking
    3. my friend has a receipt for shipping the item but thats it

any tips/clues on what is going to happen?

My friend has done nothing wrong, but he cant help it if the guy wanted to go cheap. The guy even asked my friend to put in extra free cards just bc the buyer thought the auction he won was too high.

Then who asked him to bid right?

I need some opinion on this.. thanks.

From Ebay's perspective, it's up to the seller, not the buyer, to make sure the item arrives safely. If the seller didn't provide DC or tracking, then the seller will be found liable and a refund will be issued. In the future your friend should offer only shipping with DC or tracking.
