Dick Williams/Earl Weaver
I'm thinking of writing to these two Hall of Fame managers, but some say they sign for $20 while some say they charge $25 while others say you can get them for $10. To avoid sending to much or too little money, could anyone whose gotten either of them TTM help me out a little here. Thank you very much, Tom

There was just bunch of Earl Weaver successes on various sites, myself included, that all went for a $20 fee. Send it c/o Miami Children's Hospital since they are the ones that really get the money and you'll receive your ball and a nice letter from the hospital thanking you for your donation. I haven't seen anything recently under $20 but I didn't even think about it because I could not low ball a children's hospital. I have seen others send more than the $20 but it seems like a $20 min and its a great cause you get proof your money went to.
Dick Williams I have seen some wiggle room on though $25 for a ball seems to be the overwhelming norm. Since they are sent c/o his son now there seems to be much more rigidity to his fee scale.
Hope this helps.

If your trying to avoid fees, which I can't blame you, try Whitey Herzog. He was just short of getting inducted in '08 and is one again on the final Veterans Committee ballot. Doug Harvey is an UMP on this year's ballot that was 1 vote short in '08 you could try him as well but I have been unable to find and confirm a solid addy for Harvey.(Herzog is in the TTMM).
I just bought a Frank Robinson ball and a Steve Carlton ball so I'm tapped for funds for a bit but Herzog is topping my list for next ttm.

So if you send to Earl Weaver c/o the Childrens Hospital, he sends you back a signed ball? I was considering sending either a HOF post card or a couple cards, but if they send you back a baseball, then I'll just grab that.

Herzog's manager's cards are extremely easy to get from the late 1980's. I have one from the 1989 Topps set that I can send you if you send me a SASE. Send me a PM if you want it.

lol, sorry. You need to provide the ball and SASE. The 1970 Orioles are my all-time favorite team though so to me the ball, postage, and $20 was totally worth it. Again if cash if your big issue Herzog is the guy for you.Last edited by Sawks14; 11-11-2009 at 02:41 PM.

Herzog is a great idea. Do not forget that Sparky Anderson is still doing some TTMs and when the season starts there are very few automatic signers like Tony LaRussa and he will be a HOF manager someday as well! Best of luck on your requests!

I wrote to LaRussa in August and haven't received anything back. I'll try again during ST. Another future HOF manager thats a great signer is Jim Leyland
