As a player who brings a lot of toughness and intangibles to the ice, Martin Hanzal makes an impact on most of his shifts. He matches up against opponents' top centers, and his in-your-face style disrupts their games and helps to neutralize their scoring.

"I'm just trying to play every shift hard, every game focused to do you best," said Hanzal, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound center averaging more than 18 minutes of ice time per game. "Coach (Dave Tippett) told me to play with an urgency every game."
