Thrashers rout Kings 7-0
ATLANTA (AP)—If Ilya Kovalchuk plays this well with a gimpy right foot, how much better will he perform when he’s 100 percent?
Kovalchuk hardly seems to care. The Atlanta captain knows he and the Thrashers can only improve.
“Oh, definitely,” he said. “It’s still going to take me time to heal all the way.”
Kovalchuk and Maxim Afinogenov each had two goals and two assists to help the Thrashers beat the Los Angeles Kings 7-0 on Friday night for their third straight victory.

As a Canuck fan, I feel your pain. Whether you team has been playing well or not, you don't like to see 5+ goals against. It HURTS!

This game proved a few thoughts I've had are right...
1. Atlanta is a good team. If Pavelec stays healthy (and doesn't let in any fluke goals again lol), Kane keeps playing at his current pace & Little gets out of his early-season slump, the Thrashers are a playoff team.
2. Quick is being overused by the Kings. They can't keep using him this much. It's not good to see your goalie tired in November!
3. Ersberg is the #3 goalie. I was shocked he made the team over Jonathan Bernier. But I figured since Quick would be #1, it would be better for Bernier to get some more time in the AHL.
But he allowed four goals in seven shots! That won't cut it. If I had any say, it's time to bring Bernier up & send Ersberg down. Let Quick & Bernier rotate in goal. At least that way neither guy gets overused & the competition between the two might help out later in the season.

totally agree on bernier. time to call him up. if not, why do we even have him? if quick is the #1 without any competition then just trade bernier for something.
the reason we have 2 quality guys under the age of 25 is because we're not sure either one is going to be a star. so play them both and see who the hot guy is. we're too good this year to let bernier stay in Manchester while Quick is struggling.

If you can shut down Stamkos , Malone , St.Louis and Lecavalier , L.A will win.
