CHICAGO — Let’s get the really important stuff out of the way first: What’s the deal with Torrey Mitchell? Is he hurt? Did they call him up to San Jose?

No and no.

“They played four games in five nights and today was an afternoon game,” Sharks Coach Todd McLellan said in explaining why Mitchell sat out Saturday night’s 4-0 loss. “That’s a lot of hockey to ask of him right off the bat. Played Wednesday, practiced Thursday, played Friday, didn’t play Saturday. Will play today. Has absolutely nothing to to do with his play or his injury. Just player management.”
