At the quarter-pole of the NHL season, the Rangers are on a familiar pace: If form holds, they will be gearing up for a battle for one of the last playoff spots in the East.

With a vastly overhauled roster, the Rangers are 11-8-1 (23 points) in 20 games. Should that continue at their present pace, the Rangers would compile about 92 points. Through the first 20 games last season, the Blueshirts were 13-5-2 (28 points) and needed a furious finish to grab a slot in the postseason with 95 points.
