Doughty Question
okay...theoretical question: I want both cards, but I can't have both cards, which should I buy ?
08-09 Ud Series 1 Drew Doughty YG graded BGS 9.5 gem mint
OR
08-09 BAP Rookie/99 (not graded)
if you collected Doughty and had to choose between the two cards, which path would you take ?...thanks for the help in advance !!!

That is simple. BAP not graded.
I have never cared for graded cards and BGS 9.5's on these newer cards are a dime a dozen. Also, the print run suggests there approximately 10-13,000 YG's a year.
Whoopty doo.
Grab the one out of 99.

I think you made the right call. Graded, especially for anything from 1990 and newer is very over rated (IMO). The BAP /99, would be one of his best couple of RCs.

its serial numbered therefore it is superior to a card that 6000+ were made of :)

like everyone else said; BAP.
this is the way i look at it. say four years from now when doughty may be a norris candidate would a pretty common rc graded at a 9.5 or a rookie card out of 99 have more value.

you make a good argument, but that "candidate" thing ?....that's wrong, it should read "Norris Trophy winner".
