Identifying Cards?
Hi all,
What's the most efficient method of creating a list of cards to sell? I bought a lot and am not familiar with the sets/insert types.
I'm trying the Beckett online "organize" tool and their website is giving me lots of hassle. I have heard Beckett has many problems.
Any other ideas out there? Perhaps a plain copy of the magazine?

Yeah you'll need to know what each card is identified as, and Beckett does have the most comprehensive lists out there, but as you mentioned their site is full of bugs and problems- many have abandoned it because of that alone. So, yes, the price guide book would probably be your next best option. The annual big Beckett may be your best choice as far as compiling your list, but maybe not for book values.
So, how many cards did you acquire? If it's not too many members here could probably help you if you have scans/images of them.

Well it's 123 game used from primarily 2007-2009. I don't have every one scanned.
I'll look into the annual deal. I know those are good for this type of situation.
Just want to spend as little time as possible and thanks for sharing your insight!
I'll give Beckett online a couple more runs before making a move.

Actually it might be faster if you scanned/imaged them all, uploaded to a image sharing site such as photobucket, and then members have at helping you identifying them, it would be fun!
You might end up smashing your computer if you spend any significant length of time on Beckett.com :)

One other quick inquiry.
What have you guys found to be the most efficient way to type up a list of cards to sell/trade. I am having success using the Beckett "organize" tool and was thinking of perhaps a copy/paste method through them?
All other relevant insight is much appreciated.

What I've done for my entire football collection (16,000+ cards) is make a Excel Spreadsheet. I've included year, number, brand, set, player, type, and team, and that allows me to search for people's needs immediately. It's extremely time consuming, but I do it as my "down-time" work while watching TV. It comes in handy....
