In the Panini website there are 2 different checklists for Rookies & Stars, a normal one and Rookies & Stars Longevity.

Not 100% sure, but longevity in football was a retail only product......You get less packs in longevity compared to hobby but still get 3 hits......the base cards look a little different too.....the longevity base cards all have a shiny finish to them

I thought the gold/holofoil inserts were the longevity piece for Basketball. In FB, the base resembled those inserts but idk.

Longevity wasn't only retail.....they make hobby boxes of Leaf Rookies and Stars, as well as Leaf Rookies & Stars Longevity. Most FB collectors wait for Longevity to come out and buy those hobby boxes since the hits are generally better. Hobby boxes are usually only 10 packs, and you get 3-4 hits per box.

Basically, the difference is that all the base cards in Longevity look like the parallel inserts out of regular R&S.

Longevity is half the box of first r&s, the stripes on the side are gold instead of black with the same design and less inserts than the first one. Was told the first r&s has better inserts than Longevity! I tell you what... the new threads look really sharp!!

Im curious to check out the Threads as well. However, what do you guys think UD will do with their last issue, Greats of the Game. You would think they could go all out as their last product, apologizing for two years of crap but I dont see it happening.

actually since UD has the license to make NCAA/Collegiate produts, Greats of the Game might be a series of products to come for years featuring players in their college or high school uniforms. So you could get a MJ auto in his UNC uniform and possibly KG in his Farragut HS uniform....
my card shop owner said he has received some info that there might be another basketball type product similar to greats of the game after the season....maybe they might make Draft Edition again too..dunno.

but from some previews online, seems like Greats of the Game will have a ton of sticker autos...sigh
