Looking for suggestions...
I've started collecting hockey cards again for the past few years (since the lockout). For Christmas, I usually get a box of Upper Deck series 1 cards. They are pretty good for the price.
My problem is that I feel that they are just taking up too much space for just base cards. Would anyone suggest another box set that only involves memorabilia? I was looking into UD Black or ITG Ultimate Memorabilia. If you could give your insight about which one (or another set) has the best for the amount of cards per box (I think UD Black has 4, ITG has 6) for the value. From my research, I'm thinking that ITG has more cards for cheaper but aren't as nice as UD Black.
Thanks for your input!

ur right they arent as nice as black but in the black you are going to get 2 and maybe even 3 lettermen. The lettermen are not game worn and there are a lot of scrub players i would go with the itg ultimate 9

I've seen some very poor UD Black breaks around here. From what i've seen they have kind of been hit or miss this year. While it does produce very nice cards, I think Black is over-priced. At $225+CDN per box (with 2 packs per box, 2 cards per pack) seems ridiculous...but that's just me.
I personally would opt for ITG (5 packs per box, 3 cards per pack).

UD1 is nice. Half a dozen rookies that hold good value, a couple of game used, a bunch of inserts, a decent shot at a case hit, and a great price. Plus you will have 3/4 or so of the base set when your finished. Definitely a fun rip and a great price, as always.
I think Black is pretty well a waste of money this year unless you hit a huge card, and the odds of that seem slim. Most of the rookie letterman's can be had for $15 or less on ebay, and I've seen way too many bad packs to be spending $200+ on 4 cards.
ITG Ultimate looks great this year (3 cards per pack) and at a price of $100 less than Black, I'd say if your going to go higher end, pick up a pack or two of this. Your not likely to be disappointed. 1/1's seem to fall one per 1-2 boxes, the base cards look amazing, and the player selection blows Black out of the water in my opinion.

Agreed ^^^
Would either go with the UD1 for the fun rip/quanity or ITG Ultimate. For a christmas break, I don't think you'd be upset with either; however, Black could produce that result
