Identifiers for 02-03 OPC Rookie Reprints & Autos
Does anyone know how to differentiate between a 2002-03 OPC Rookie Reprint insert, and a 2002-03 OPC Rookie Reprint Autograph insert?
Does the back of the autograph card have the "congratulations, etc.. " message on it?
I picked up an Andy Bathgate rookie reprint today, and it has a signature on the front of it... but the only picture reference I can find is on the Beckett OPG, and it shows this particular card as the standard "rookie reprint" insert. I'm just trying to find out what the difference between them is.

Hey Don, here's the photo of the Bathgate

The only ones on eBay are baseball and football, the few hockey that are around aren't from this set.
I was kinda hoping maybe someone had something from an auto from this set and could tell me if it had a specific identifier.

I seen the cards your talking about as I know my friend has all the 02/03 topps roy reprints which also have the auto version for each copy like these. As you mentioned i would assume there would be a identifier.
1) I would assume the autos would be a lot bolder than what appears to be a fascimile auto.
2) I would also think that somewhere it would say congrats on a auto etc.
Of course it would be nice if someone had a card so we could compare back and front.
pm coming your way as it looks like one might have ended in october if you can dig up the completed listing.

According to the pictures I've found, it looks like the reprints of that particular set of cards all have the faux-auto on them.... but there's one picture listed for the auto version, and it's exactly the same.
eBay is still offering me nothing in terms of cards from the same set. =(

That's just the base insert with facsimile auto. The real autos have the Topps Certified Auto stamp in foil on the front along with the topps holo on the back.
Here's an Espo for reference. http://cgi.ebay.com/01-02-TOPPS-ROOKIE-REPRINT-PHIL-ESPOSITO-CERT-AUTO_W0QQitemZ310182486777QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Ho ckey_Trading_Cards?hash=item48385122f9
It's from a year earlier but the same markers carried through to the next year as well.
