Terminator Salvation DVD - To Have Extra Features
Hi!
I have a question, not sure if anyone has an answer though.
I'm sure most of you sci-fi fans saw Terminator Salvation. I thought it was a very good movie for it's purpose in the series of movies.
Now the dvd comes out on Dec. 1st, this tuesday. The director, McG, says there will be 30-40 minutes of bonus features, including R-rated material not in theaters (don't know why the movie wasn't just R anyways..).
But whenever it is mentioned about the bonus features, websites will use the term "this DVD/Blue-Ray will feature"...
I can't understand if this means the DVD too? or just blue-ray? i have no clue. I'm not blue-ray owner, maybe when prices drop someday. Besides that, i'm not sure what this term means..
Any help from either this movie or another movie people have looked at before?
Thanks much,
josh

Sometime DVDs will have features only in blu ray, but I say most of the time the regular and blu ray have the same special features.
Now for the new TS dvd, the regular DVD version will have NO extra features at all. The blu ray dvd will have several extra features as well as the Director's Cut, which only runs 3 minutes longer than the cut you saw on Theater.
McG said he did shoot 30-40 minutes extra footage, but it is NOT in either the regular or blu ray version and is most definitely being saved for a double dip version, which should be released at a later date. DVDs do this a lot, release a bare bone version with little or no extra features, then release a DVD with loads of extra features at a later date (to cash your pocket).

Yea if you plan to own the movie one day, you're better off waiting for the next version and just rent the current version. If they are really going to release another version of TS, it would most likely be when the sequel hits the theater.

probably, assuming there will be one. this film clearly made it seem open enough for a T5.
i'm gonna head to redbox next weekend, it's a local machine in places like Shaw's or Stop & Shop where its $1 for a night.

The dvd version is not coming with the director's cut. If you want the director's cut you'll have to wait or purchase the Blu-ray.
