Please learn from my mistake!!!!
I just learned a valuable and costly lesson about selling on checkoutmycards.com and it was completely my fault.
Just had a batch uploaded a couple of days ago and went through & quickly priced the cards out. I am mostly a football guy, but love to bust all high end wax. I sent in some 09-10 Exquisite Basketball. I dont know anyone or anything about basketball outside the top 5 super stars.
One of the Rookie cards had a book value of $30-$60 so I priced it at $40 since it was a rookie card. Have you figured out who it was yet? Here is a hint: it sold at my asking price about 30 minutes after I listed it. So I decided to check ebay to see what they are selling for:
$225 all day long....OUCH!!!! I had just sold the best card I pulled in my case for $40. Win some, lose some...Oh, here is the player:
2009-10 Exquisite Collection #47
Brandon Jennings RC (Rookie Card) #203/225
I am hoping that at least someone from this site is now the owner. The lesson is to check going market sales on your new rookie cards before pricing them.
Good Luck, John
