    MVP vs Cup

I don't really understand the difference between the Cup and MVP. Why are the cup patches way more expensive than MVP? Is it the design of the Cup card which makes it more expensive?

First off, MVP doesn't have patches. It has GU swatches, but no patches. The cards are also not made of the same stock, and you can get them in a box that costs $60. The Cup costs about $400 per tin, the patches are short-printed (other than the rookies, there are no game-used patches in The Cup with a print run higher than 75) and generally feature multi-colours and/or -breaks, and more often than not are also autographed.

Really, would you rather have this:

The points have been stated and obvious, but keep in mind it is all about supply and demand. Those MVP multi-autos can be very scarce since the product tends to be lightly broken (at least by message board collectors or eBayer bulk buyers). You can at times find MVP autos that exceed the sales you see on some Cup autos of the same players.

MVP is a low end set and the Cup id on the end of the High end sets.

    Cost per card:
A the cup card cost in average 80$ a card where as MVP may cost you 0,30$ in average. That make a difference when trying to sell you card. you will ask more for a The Cup then a MVP.

    Collecting value:
Collector may fetch some money when the card come out but their attention, at least for adult collectors, are more on mid and high end sets. Many just don't want to collect lower end because the value drop fast where as some mid end set keep their value in time much better because they fetch more interest.

You are comparing like a white Bubble wine like Baby Duck to a bottle of champagne, they can't really be compared since they are from both end of the quality spectrum. The champagne will be the winner and we all know that. So comparing MVP to The CUP is very similar.
