    2 boxes: 1 R&S and 1 Elite: Wednesday 12am EST

Thought I'd try a box each of R&S and Elite (even though I strongly dislike that there are no base rookie cards and thus no parallel rookies either), and they came already in the mail today.

I just got home so I'm going to settle in and start opening these at midnight. I'm sort of skeptical about the R&S, other than the rookie materials cards I'm not really feeling the set or the inserts so far. I do like the Elite die-cuts a lot (argh that there are no rookies for these though...think die-cut Jennings or Blake...it just makes all the cards other than the hits so much less exciting).

Scans of the hits and #d inserts once I open each box!

Well, I still think the Rookies and Stars base set and most the inserts are boring as heck, both to open and to look at, but I certainly can't complain about this box thanks to one card and one card alone!

09/50 (draft year), my first Griffin auto!

Most the rest of the #d cards. Lame rookies other than the hit. The Bird holofoil is kinda nice.

Well, the Elite box I would rate as squarely average. No patches. No really nice auto hits but there's certainly worse than Harden and Beaubois (he's actually pretty good, not getting props yet though).

Man is that Magic/Kobe card such a tease. Those torch cards are pretty much made for autos, and it was in one of the first packs I opened so I did a few double-takes just to make sure it was indeed auto-less (hey, it worked for the Griffin/Hansbrough!). Some other #d inserts in addition, a Pierce 'Elite Series' /25 that doesn't look any different on the front from the unnumbered one (back has green border instead of blue). Other legend was the Denver Jalen Rose...that's gotta be the worst card in the set.

Nice hit!! The passing the torch card looks like they could've been GU cards! I don't like how there are so many lines and shapes in panini/donruss's designs.

Id say they were great boxes, and I love the design for both sets, especially the elite die-cuts.
