Mavericks @ Nets game thread - 12/2 - going for the record

Nets are going for an NBA-record 18th straight loss to open a season, and they are well on their way...they are currently trailing 99-76 late in the third quarter, but what's even more impressive (from the Mavs viewpoint) is that the Nets gave up 49 points to the Mavs in the 2nd quarter - only 9 points off the NBA record of 58 points in one quarter!

Holy buckets...I figured they had to have shot around 75%, but 90%?!? Wowzers...

Well, they still won't get more than 25% of them if they have the worst record, whether it's by one game or by 30 games...a few wins may be nice if they want to get a 2010 free agent there...plus, I don't think the players want to go 0-82...actually, I doubt they wanted to go 0-18 either...lol

I wonder if they'll beat the 9-73 mark set by the 76ers back in the '70s.

I never thought that record would ever be broken...this Nets team has made me a believer though...I think the likelihood that this record is at least tied is now pretty high.
