    HELP....Water Damage

Hey guys need some help, I have a pretty nice collection of MJ cards probably somewhere between 2k-2.5k cards (haven't looked at them in about 5 yrs) with many duplicates. I kept them in my parents basement all in seperate snap tight cases. I had one box not on the shelf and when the basement flooded they got wet. Probably about 500 cards or so but luckily none of high value. The ones that did get wet is there anything I can do to try and restore them? Some are garbage already but some have very minimum water damage and some have no water damage just warped pretty bad. Does anyone have any experience in this type of restoration? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do. Let this be a lesson to everyone, do not leave your cards in a basement. Basements have a lot of moisture and even if they don't leak the cards themselves will absorb the moisture over time.

Water is the most powerful force on Earth. Unfortunately, this also means that there is rarely anything you can do to restore anything that has water damage to it's original condition. Sorry for your loss, but at least they weren't high end cards.

If some of those cards are heavy gloss or chrome you can air them out. Otherwise there's not much that can be done.

If there was a lot of damage and the parents are filing an insurance claim try to recoup some of the loss that way.
