    No thread on Donaghy?

Anybody else catch the 60 minutes interview with Tim Donaghy? He all but said that refs in the NBA had pre-determined agendas when calling the games. Not that this should be much of a surprise to anybody watching the NBA of today. He was able to have 80% winning percentage on bets based on conversations with other refs. He also said the refs were told by the league to extend playoff series and do what they can for big market stars to win those games.

Stern is blasting his credibility, his only play of course. Painting Donaghy as a "rogue referee". I think there was a lot more two this than the NBA wants to let out.

Hadn't heard this, but it certainly doesn't surprise me...I don't believe that it was only Donaghy who was favoring one team over the other...I'm sure it was several refs, and I wouldn't be surprised if Stern had a hand in it...the NBA was lacking a decent sized fan base after Jordan retied, so he probably thought that he'd do anything to get more fans...too bad, as it makes the league look dirty.

The fact that the Miami Heat won the Championship and Wade was pushed to the stars with phantom fouls was a great indication of fixed games at work.

It was a great piece, particularly when the FBI said there was no evidence of him fixing games. He just bet according to the other refs' biases toward / against players.

+1.. I guess, Cuban was kinda correct in feeling bad about what had happened then. But to be honestly, Dirk's still ain't clutch and that reeled Dallas more.

Actually that's very true too, Dirk choked more than an angry Latrell Sprewell.
