    NHL Center Ice Package

Why are any of the games blacked out. I have to watch the Carolina broadcast when I would much rather watch the FSN Pittsburgh feed of tonights game. I know it is basically all about ratings but why, when you pay for the Center Ice package do you not get all channels. I think it is just dumb. Any thoughts?

It has to do with the rights of the local broadcasting companies. Was it not on your FSN channel? I was under the impression that the game is viewable if your local company is not showing the game. I watch all CBJ games on FSN Ohio and bought Center Ice to watch the rest of the league, mostly Minnesota.

oh local broadcasting rights....... here's the one that grinds my gears:

Sportsnet (one of the big players in Canada) has 4 Channels. East, Ontario, West, Pacific. With my Bell subscription, I get all four channels. EXCEPT when live NHL is on.... then I can only watch Ontario (so Leafs, and nothing else. Ottawa falls under East).

There's been a few times where I'm flicking through the channels, see an Oilers game, try and watch, and it's blacked out.

That drives me nuts too, I always want to watch games and never can. I get Edmonton and Calgary when I want Ottawa lol

Well the game was on the FSN Carolina. Though good commentary, I would still rather watch FSN Pittsburgh.
