Question about the hockey Show & Tell
Why is the number of images limited per post?

I mean if you're gonna post 36 images, wouldn't it be better to do it in one post rather than 3?
All it does is skew a persons number of posts and cause more scrolling with avatars, hyperlinks and signatures in each post within a thread?
Thanks to anyone who can answer this!

I wondered this myself. Seems like an arbitrary and useless limitation. However, as with many things I encounter, I'm sure there is a logical reason that is beyond what I can ponder.

I've voiced concern over this before, the intent is to limit the number of images for 56k users but if someone just makes three posts instead it makes absolutely no difference. People will keep posting their images if they want to, may as well let them make one thread and cut down the number of posts and the frustration involved in making numerous posts for one show & tell. Hopefully this will change :)

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who would rather see this changed or doesn't like this.
No offense to anyone out there, but honestly, is there still 56K dial-up anywhere in North America?
I mean I imagine maybe in really rural places but what about all of you in major cities/suburbs? Is it around?

Exactly, and, if you read my thoughts above, it actually causes MORE scrolling with the additional items such as sigs, avatars and embedded material that must load.

I broke this response into three posts because I was limited.

I also wish you could go higher than 100 pixel height for a banner, can't display much in 100 pixels. But one thing at a time ;)

In Canada yes, there is still some 56k avaible ... I had this 5 years ago when my mom had is first computer ... I think Georges Laraque is faster then this.
I agree with Inferno, I'm doing signatures since 2 years with photoshop and I usually go for at least a 360px*140px banner, without that everything is so small lol

Personally, I like that there is a limit of # of photos per post.
Who wants to look through 36 images in a post? If you're going to upload an entire photobucket folder to SCF, just leave the link and if I feel like looking through them, I will.
Are you really hindered by the limit? Do you often post threads with the intention to show off 36 images?
Cheers,
