As I said before it even happened, regardless of how this one situation works out, it sets a very dangerous precedent for the government to take over private corporations. They're paying it back, great...which by the way, they're paying it back so quick because they don't want to have to deal with the government, which should tell us something...but the damage has already been done. It's not the fact they did it this once, no one expected them to maintain ownership of these banks, it's the fact that they can do it whenever they wish in the future.

Hmm, I somewhat disagree then. I did not agree with the government bailouts but I do think it is important that they are paid back quickly

Well I agree they should be paid back as quickly as possible, but that's neither here nor there when considering whether the notion was "communist" or not.

Quite frankly, I don't see how this relates to the BCS. Realistically, the BCS bill is about money plain and simple, not Obama being communist, not a liberal agenda. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm willing to bet the guys supporting this bill represent areas that stand to profit from a different system.

That's why I said somewhat subconsciously. I think it's obvious the government isn't using the BCS as a way to push a communist agenda. My point is if the government weren't already reaching into areas they shouldn't be in a communist manner, the idea of tampering with the BCS wouldn't even come up. The fact that the government has already inserted itself into areas it was never meant to be and continues to do so, as in situations like this, is communist in nature. I'm not saying they're doing this to openly push a communist agenda, I'm sure that's not the thought behind it, but the fact that they are doing it is communist in nature. As I said above, "it is the government forcefully involving itself in more and more aspects of American life. What more is communism than the government being involved in and exerting influence over, if not outright controlling, every part of the citizens' lives?"

While I agree that Congress really has no business sticking their hands in this, I still don't think you can pin it on the President. This sort of thing has been going on for some time now

I haven't tried to pin it on the president, haven't mentioned him once. I pin it on government in general, even Republicans to a degree, but mostly liberal Democrats. Obama is less the cause and more the result of the move toward communism in the nation. If we weren't already moving that way, he never would have been nominated, let alone elected.

Well, this whole communism issue was brought up when mike blamed the President and presumably the liberal Democrats for this when that is not really who is to blame for this issue. That is where I am coming from on this. I am not talking broad generalities

I see what you're saying...I think the liberals in power are a result of the movement towards communism, but they also perpetuate that movement. So to me, they are not solely to blame, but they definitely deserve their share of it...Congress more so than the president.

However, that does not really fly in this case since the bill's sponsor is a republican from Texas not a liberal democrat. I do not know this but I would speculate he has some ties to TCU or some other way in which money is involved. I think this is really a money issue, not a communism one.
