Interesting. I have a tough time believing that Montreal really wants to move Jaro, simply because he is such a capable backup for Price. Both of them being young they motivate one another to strive to be the true #1 on the team. Obviously there would have to be a serviceable backup coming back unless the Habs feel comfortable with Curtis Sanford in the #2 spot.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I am no Habs expert by any means, but if I was running things I'd keep both Tenders as long as I could. Any idea when Halaks contract runs out? That would probably be the deciding factor, IMO

Both he and Carey are RFA's after this season.
As a rule, if a Habs rumour appears anywhere on a website, it's probably not true. Mr. Gainey plays things very close to the vest and very rarely do leaks occur regarding Canadiens players. That's not to say that the media effect doesn't take its toll--Plekanec was a wreck for most of last season after his name appeared ad nauseum.

And once again we have the monthly "which goalie do the Habs want to trade" rumors beginning. It seems that every time a goalie goes on a bit of a streak, and Price is playing well now, the other is going to be traded.
If Halak is traded, Gainey should be fired. I am not a Habs fan by any means, but they need to keep both young goalies, cuz eventually, one will fade away and there is absolutely nobody in their system worth looking at for at least 2 years. Richard ???

I think it would be a bad move to trade him, maybe the Flyers could get him though :) I'd take that!

for one thing when the habs traded latendresse a few weeks ago their were rumors that he was going to be traded for a week or two. so bob gainey doesn't quite hold his cards all the way up to his chest. secondly price and halak are both RFA's at seasons end. halak is making only 750k this year and if he is dealt during this season he will have more value than traded in the offseason.

Eventually Halak will be traded, I think. Price is their guy.... and Halak is going to get too expensive to be a backup.
That being said, the offseason seems way more likely. I bet you could get a nice player and a 2nd round pick on draft day.
Why would they deal him now? He's cheap, and good. If Price gets hurt this season, they've still got Halak. It's a nice luxery, and no reason to give that up (yet).
