Gerber Hospitalized With Serious Neck Injury
"The injury is very serious, Martin can forget about hockey for next 6 months," said one of the hospital's doctors, Igor Suvorov. "Thank God the spinal cord was not hurt and there is no threat to his life. Gerber will soon be sent to a special clinics in Podolsk to undergo computed tomography to ensure the spinal cord is not hurt."

Ouch, I wonder if this will be a career ending injury or if he will return. More importantly, I hope he gets better and has a good recovery.

Sad news for his team. I just hope he recovers and can come back to play hockey in the future. Of course I am sure hockey the last thing he worried about as it a serious injury. One step at a time. Prayers go out to him and wish him a speedy recovery..
He was 19-9-6, with a 2.19 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in 30 games as Atlant's starter this fall.
