Little help?
I wasnt sure which forum to put this in, but I would first like to say hey to all of the racing collectors on here. I am very much new to collecting NASCAR/IRL but I am not new to the sport itself. I have been watching racing for many years, but I never really collected trading cards. I mostly just stick to basketball and a little baseball but I am planning on jumping into NASCAR collecting. However, I have no idea what boxes to open, as I am clueless to the brands. I notice most of the stuff is Press Pass, which in basketball is reguarded as super low end, but is that the best product to go with? Any comments/advice would be greatly appretiated, and I am looking forward to hearing everything. Thanks!

Press Pass is the ONLY supplier of NASCAR. Therefore, you will only see Press Pass cards (whether it is called Wheels, VIP, Premier, Element, Showcase, Legends, etc.).

yes-as said welcome to the most fun sport (and the best) to collect on the planet. Press Pass is the only maker of Nascar cards-they have about 10 releases a year-I recommend starting out with regular Press Pass-its great fun to open, fairly cheap, and you got a chance to get some really nice stuff. They just released 2010 Press Pass-go out and find you some. Who do you collect?

Also, while PP basketball might seen 'junky' and low end, press pass racing is COMPLETELY different. PP makes all the racing products, and they put out an incredible product every time something releases. PP basketball/football compared to PP racing is night and day.

amen to that! press pass being the only supplier for nascar... but the cards are nice. i love most press pass ru cards more than 70% of other sports gu releases. and not what you'd expect if your familiar with bkb and fb releases from press pass.

I will keep that in mind. I will probobly try the press pass legends as one of my first boxes. I have a few of the autos from that set. Yarborough, Allisons, White, and a few others. I really like the look of the autos.
