2009 NBA Draft Class so far....

There may be a similar thread, but I thought I get some thoughts rolling on this...

before the draft, there was more skepticism about this draft class, comparing it to 2000 and 2001. People said it was weak, that only Blake Griffin would be a force and etc....

What do you guys think so far? even though the season is only 2 months old, do you think some guys are still getting used to the teams, do you think some have dissapointed more than others?

I personally thought before this draft started that no one would reallly wow me, but that there would be a solid group of potential role players and additions that could complete something that is already there in another team....I think its been actually alright. Some need a high percentage of shots to make an impact (Evans) but I think most of done what they have been asked to do....perhaps Rubio could have made a bigger impact, that is of course if he could transfer some of his flash to the NBA courts...Thabeet has been as expected, not a bust, but someone who can't push a Marc Gasol or Zach Randolph out of the lineup just because his game is really raw....I honestly thought Gerald Henderson and Wayne Ellington would make some sort of impact but too bad...Ty Lawson has been good despite the critics...Flynn is really developing a leadership aura about him....Terrence Williams has played hard and I think the losing really got to him...James Johnson has been a dissapointment for me, he is really out of shape. Beaubois has been a big surprise to me.

So, let us know what you think so far, or who has been good or bad....

This draft year is def better than expected:

Brandon Jennings - the guy has been getting tons of hype lately and he's a favorite for ROY this year

Tyreke Evans - this guy is my pick for the ROY this year (IMO he's more consistent than Jennings

Ty Lawson - is doing great coming off the bench for Denver

James Harden - Another young guy that can def play on a very young OKC Thunder team (wish i could see more of their games)

Johnny Flynn & Stephen Curry - haven't heard much from these guys, but i'm sure they're coming along great

DeMar DeRozan - this guys has got some skill.....I've seen him throw down some sick dunks

Taj Gibson (I gotta throw a Bull into the mix) - for a second rounder, the guy is giving Chicago some production

I'm not drinking the Brandon Jennings Kool-Aid. I couldn't stand a PG that routinely takes more shots than he gets points. Russell Westbrook isn't as bad as he actually gets to the FT line, and he still drives me crazy sometimes.

As someone who watches/goes to every Thunder game, James Harden has been pretty solid so far. He does everything well. He's probably already the best passer on the team, he attacks the basket better/more consistently than anyone on the team. He plays pretty good defense. And he has a very high basketball IQ. He's already one of my favorite players in the league.

At first, he looked like a fish out of water, but he's getting better with every passing game. The only knock on him really to-date is the low FG%. But that will work itself out over time.

He may never be a hobby star (living in Durant's shadow might have something to do with that), but he's going to be a very good player for a long time in the NBA.

Blake Griffin is going to be an excellent player if he can stay healthy.

I never thought this draft class would be weak, and it's proven to be everything but weak...lots of good talent so far - Jennings' 55-point game being the most impressive - I think once Griffin returns, and Rubio comes over (if that ever happens), then this class will go down as another good class - not as great as 03 or 05, but definitely not as bad as 2000.

A lot of nice surprises this year, I think Austin Daye has been playing very well for my Pistons as of lately, but definitely wanna shout about Tyreke Evans! That guy is a monster and hope he wins ROY!!!!
