Yeah, didn't see that ending coming at all. At first, I thought Dexter was somehow dreaming but skipped back on the dvr and listened again to what Rita said she had to do.

Rita was a pain in the butt anyway! It will be really interesting to see how it plays out next year. I think sooner or later Deb will find out about Dexter.

I thought they would try to play the "it's all a dream" card, but there's really nothing to indicate that it was. I'm hoping that they don't, because I'm really interested in seeing where he goes now. He shattered Harry's code this season (killing the innocent guy, embracing a family, etc.) and it blew up in his face.

My prediction is that Dexter is found out and Deb is the one to either arrest him or kill him. I've heard that this upcoming season is the last one they are signed on for.

Wow, season 4 is over already? I just watched the first three seasons over the summer on dvd/bluray. Great show.

I wouldn't be surprised if this show ends with Dexter on his way to being executed and what we've seen so far is his life passing before his eyes.

Interesting theory....although that's quite the cop-out for a series finale...

On topic, I love Dexter, although I wasn't entirely thrilled with the 4th season....I thought the first three were a lot better. (Glad Rita died though, I didn't like her, lol.)
