CHIT-CHAT FF: Playoffs Round 1 Wrap
SCF Throwdown: The Official SCF Chit-Chat Fantasy Football League
--------------------------------------------
ROUND 1 WRAP
Round 1 is in the books with one upset...oh and three upsets in the consolation bracket, but who cares really?
Recap of the Match ups
PLAYOFFS
#5 Blunts @ #4 • PABS!!! - Frank Gore tried to make a game of this, posting 167 and a TD...but the hole was too deep. Randy Moss is the man to blame here, posting a -1 on the day. If he had even gotten close to his 11.8 average, the Blunts could have pulled it out. As it stands, Jay Feely leads the Slaps to victory and the 2nd Round...that's right, Jay Feely. Now they get to take on the regular season champs, Ramrod.
#6 Dwarves @ #3 Victors - The Victors had a chance before SNF. Down 87-54, they had Smith, Jacobs, Fitzgerald, and Davis going up against little ol' DeSean Jackson. Then DeSean posts 29 and Jacobs only 10, putting the lead at 116-64 going into MNF. The Victors were demoralized by DJack's big plays and couldn't get it up for the game, with Smith, Fitz, and Davis posting a combined 22 points. So the #3 team goes down in the first round and the Dwarves move on to face the Novacaine in Round 2.
CONSOLATION
#8 Stratusfaction @ #7 EFFECT!! - Flacco, CJ, and Pierre gave the Truckers 59, the rest of the team gave them 8. LA gets big games from Andre Johnson and Dallas Clark and almost double them up. LA takes on Hellbillies next week and LA plays Ric Flair.
#10 Hellbillies @ #9 Pillagers - Peyton, Peterson, and Charles beat the Pillagers by themselves, the rest of the team got some practice in. Hellbillies are at LA and Pillagers host the 'Horns.
#12 Ric Flair @ #11 'Horns - The 'Horns high scorer was Fred Davis...that's not a good sign. Brandon Marshall's big game leads That Thing to the win. 'Horns at Pillagers and That Thing @ Truckers next week.

PLAYOFF PREVIEW
SECOND ROUND:
#1 Ramrod v. #4 • PABS!!!: These two met once in the regular season, with the Slaps taking home a decisive 122-71 victory. Ramrod is very happy last week was a bye and hopes his team can bounce back from some very lackluster performances. ESPN takes the regular season game and last weeks performance by Ramrod into account and makes • PABS!!! the 14 point favorite over the league leader. Visanthe Shiancoe will have last say for the Ramrods, being the last player on both teams going on SNF.
#2 Novacaine v. #6 Dwarves: These two met not so long ago in week 10, with the Dwarves taking home a 108-86 beating. They've already upset one team, now they're looking to do so again and exact some revenge. They'll need another DeSean miracle to pull it out, as the Novacaine has two sweet RB matchups which makes them the 24 point favorites. The Redskins D/ST will try to contain Hakeem Nicks on MNF to decide this one.
Obviously, the winners of these two move on to the Championship Game.
#3 Victors v. #5 Blunts: A close matchup (says ESPN), the Victors are a 1 point favorite to lock down 5th place.

Jesse outscored the four playoff teams that played. I outscored three playoff teams. Seems to me the best teams didn't make the playoffs! :)

Drew Brees... What a bummer.

That was really my only hope. If Brees went off again, I'd need a huge week and I had some questionable plays. Now, I actually have a shot!

if shiancoe can get me 30 points i will win... if i would have put cassell in over brady it would have been close...
-
12-20-2009, 09:37 PM #10

Yeah I noticed that, but who would ever start Cassell over Brady...ever? I need Shiancoe to have a good game for another league, but I shouldn't need 30 out of him...I'd settle for 15-20
