Funny UD response..
Wrote in to UD to inquire about a redemption put in 2008 for a dual auto of Sean May/Okafor.
Kept sending emails, no response. Kept asking for a change, called, said to wait, being processed.
last week, sent an email saying I will take anything at all....
got this response today
"Unfortunately you have to wait.I'm processing Baseball replacements right now and I'm hoping i can get to basketball before the holiday break but I can't guarentee that I will be able to. I'll try to get them exchanged before then but we are closed from the 24th thru the 3rd.I will start back replacing cards on the 4th of January.

I'm kinda confused. Since their NBA license ran out last October, aren't they prohibited from making NBA cards? So how would the redemption still be allowed? Or would any other NBA card be issued as a replacement? I'm guessing they'll put aside some cards as replacements from their upcoming GOTG set, but i'm just guessing.

Not very good customer service. Sounds like an excuse.
Sending a replacement should not be that hard. If UD can not keep up with a quick turn around on redemptions, then they should of stopped making them. Only redemptions that should be made are for those extra special gifts, like a trip to a playoff game, season passes, trip to UD headquarters, MJ Flight School, auto team ball, day to hang out with one of UD's spokemen, ect.
Hey, UD... if you need somebody to work extra hours for you.. let me know, I'd be interested. You can pay me in boxes of cards. Would say I'd work for packs, but inflashion caught up with the hobby. It's been almost 14 years since I worked for packs of cards.
Use some of that money that you guys make off Exquisite & other high end products and higher some more workers to help fullfill your replacement cards or the thousands of redemptions your company puts out each year...

i sent him a reply just now.

Attention: Mr. Bernard Koebler, Upper Deck Company Redemptions Supervisor
Thank you for your short response. I inquire why this is taking so long, yet when I submitted a redemption for a 09/10 SPGU Multimarks Dual Rajon Rondo/Mo Williams in October, I was immediately given a substitution because I was living in a quote "foreign country not the USA/Canada" by your customer service rep. I was given a inadequate substitution of Earl Watson/Keyon Dooling auto when I did not even request a change.
Yet for this card, which I have seen on the market, it has taken Upper Deck 2 years to redeem and all I get is a unprofessional response.
I will wait for my redemption and I am still awaiting my complaint for my substituted card as that is not what was supposed to be redeemed, nor did I request for one.
Regret to inconvenience your already very busy schedule.
in short, this is why I hate UD. well...oh wellLast edited by kornbreadchild; 02-01-2010 at 09:58 AM.
