No More Pro Zone Figures from Playmates

They were suppose to make a second wave of figures but they are not going to because of the poor sales of the first one.

If anyone is interested the first wave consisted of:

Derek Jeter
Sammy Sosa
ARod
Mike Piazza
Pedro
Curt Schilling

I got the Jeter and I think it is cool
Don't forget about the Bonds piece you need to listen to the batters and the Big Unit to listen to the pitchers.

lolol...seems like companies start a business,

make a few figurines

then shut it down

makes it seem like the only thing to do is buy Topps cards

b/c all other companies die out sooner or later

I got the Jeter as well. I have most every sports figure piece of Jeter and I really don't care what companies makes them because I'll just buy them anyway. LOL

It should but that's not a guarentee.

If they did not make that many of them then I would assume yes. But if they were overproduced and nobody wants them then it will probably not increase the value.

Trust me, Playmates did not JUST start a business, and what capitalist in his or her right mind would continue to pursue an economically unprofitable project. Also, Playmates will not be dying out anytime soon, they've got a huge foothold in the figurine market.

I think what he meant was "new" to the sports figures.

Playmates has be one of the biggest names in action figures for years but I don't recall them making sports figures before.

Since Starting Lineups were discontinued a lot of companies have tried to enter the market but they have failed. All except McFarlane.
