Anyone going to the Winter Classic?
There has been a lot of media buzz on the Winter Classic. Anyone going? I thought about taking my daughter then saw the prices on eBay. :(

It simply is ridiculous, last year in Chicago I was able to get on ticketmaster and was looking for 2 tickets when they were first released. I eventually got in when all that was left was single tickets and face value on an obstructed ticket was $200+.
The whole atmosphere of the Winter Classic is expensive. I decided to go to some bars around Wrigley with some friends during it and to buy a simple item like a Winter Classic winter hat was like $50.

It was a lot cheaper when it was here in Buffalo, and it was the greatest sporting event I've attended

I'd imagine it was a lot better in Buffalo, unforunately, in places like Chicago, and I am sure this year in Boston, its not so much about the sporting event to the people attending, but rather it being "place to be."
That is what has happened with the Blackhawks in Chicago, and the Cubs...more than 3/4ths of the people attending the games can't tell you anything about the teams 2-3 years ago. I am sure it is the same way with Fenway park and some of the Boston fans.

Even though Ill be in Boston and will regret it the rest of my life, I cant afford 600-1000 bucks for my wife and I to go. Oh well, at least Ill get to see the Mighty Mighty Bosstones!

I wish I was going, I bought a Flyers partial ticket plan just to have a shot at getting them for face value, but that didnt work out so I guess I'll be watching from home now.

Yes and Yes...I only paid $200 when they went on sale (got lucky on ticketmaster) and me and wife had an amazing time...the lot, the beer, the people, the food...good times...got a pic in my wallet that is me and the wife in the stands...hence, this collection...

All I know is WHEN they have one in Columbus at the OSU horseshoe I'll be there no matter what. 100,000 seats I'm sure I can get a couple tickets.

I was going to go as well until I saw the ticket prices and that was 2-3 months ago when I tried planning with my wife and checking prices then!
