I sell base just for shipping cost. I think offering 5 cards of 20 BV for 1 card of 100 BV isn't even nearly as bad as offering base cards for GU, when it is a small deal. Sure, take my junk GU for Crosby base, not decent players for it, and not at the same value.
And all I said was no thanks for the offer.

That's the perfect attitude. to refuse something you are not comfortable with is the right decision.
On the flip side. If you had the Base I need to finish my sets, I'd be glad to deal off a GU, as long as I deem it to be relative, and that I did get what I thought was enough to be satisfactory, and if you want to go BV to BV, I will do that as well. This is just my trading practice, and I have a ton of stuff to trade. base as well.Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

It all comes down to this: does the trade fill a need for me? At the end of the day, I've got a 3200ct. box half-filled with cards that I would not lose a wink of sleep over if they were to be moved out for a quantity of Habs base cards. If somebody has 25 Patrick Roy base cards they want in return for a Joe Thornton GU, chances are I'd be interested. Sure I might be able to get 1 or 2 nicer Patrick Roy cards for the Thornton, but sometimes I'll favour quantity over quality.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

If someone had base i was missing from the guys in my sig i would do it in a heart beat, thats some of the toughest stuff to get to fill my wants of them. People always offer the jerseys autos high end etc.. so when someone has a long list with base and low end inserts i get way more excited and will trade BV for BV if thats the case or just make sure that we are both happy, I do agree though that offering 100 base cards for I needed for something like a Ovechkin YG or something i would Kindly say no, and ask for maybe a little bit of better trade bait to go along with the base I needed. Just my .02 cents

What is the $25 BV GU you are giving up? That might help give a more informed answer.

If you base your decision to trade on the BV of your GU Jersey, why should base cards not be viewed at their BV as well? They may be base cards, but their BV has been established using the same process as that for SP, inserts and GU cards. Why should that determination be dismissed as not a true representation of value?
As others have said, it is easy to say, "no" to a trade offer, but I think offering equal or greater value base for an insert is acceptable. (escpecially when you list base wants in your sig)Hidden Content

I agree 100%... life is too short to get upset at a person's offer, when all you have to do is say, "no thanks".
