Definately a good list. The only player I would maybe argue is Osgood, but he does have some jewelry to prove his worthiness.

Just don't feel Osgood should be there, he wins because of his defense, and the Wings are actually giving up shots this year, and look at that, he's losing his job to Jimmy Howard
Everything else you pretty much can't argue, especially the 1st team

Osgood is all about the playoffs. But he doesn't deserve second team, maybe third team. Little do we forget he was in the cup finals the last two years.

I think it was a criminal Forsberg didn't get a honorable mention at center.
Other than that, solid list.

Can't complain about the list too much, although I'd think Kovalchuk should have been 1st team, and not Ovechkin.
OV is the Superior player, but Kovalchuk has been dominant for almost the entire decade, rather than half of it.
For the same reason I might have given Thornton or Lecavalier the nod over Crosby..... but I certainly think the writer got this list pretty much right.

I agree - Osgood is only as good as his team...not the other way around (like Brodeur) - He is very good with Detroit but look at his numbers everywhere else he played - Stunk it up....
He is about playoffs but he didnt "steal" any of the games...some great saves here and there but overall...average.
I was going to say he didnt play the whole decade but 30ranfordfan makes a good points that Ovechkin and Crosby didnt either.....
Then again, MOST of the time, everyone looks at the last few years more than they did in the beginning of the decade.....

Well I think you need to look at the numbers and the team he played with. As no goalie in either of those stops Blues nor the Islanders have been able to produce a number one solid goaltender for years. Also, he did take those teams to the playoffs did he not? If the number stink I don't think they would be even reaching the playoffs at any of those stops.
It amazing that he only good as his defense as wasn't the D in Detroit severly tested when they lost 3 to 5 guys for periods of time. No one wants to give him credit and he used to that. But many tell guys like Luongo to win then he will get credit. Ozzie done it over and over on the biggest stage but the fans don't want to give him credit. It amazing how we just like to blame the goalie is only good as his defense. Sounds like Nabby and the sharks in his shutout recently. People say he played out of his mind to get that win but I thought if you use the logic above he only good as his defense that took the night off. I guess it is a oxymoron when you dont' look at the picture from both viewpoints.
I will be the first to admit Chris has never been a top 3 or 5 goalie ocwe his career. He been able to get the job done when it counts. Is that not what you want when you fill out a roster. If he only good as the team might as well bring in any goalie for the league minimum as it does not make a differnece who in the net for Detroit.
