Howe a surprise runner in Olympic torch relay
The Olympic torch relay through southwestern Ontario on Wednesday had a surprise runner: Gordie Howe.
Hundreds of revelers cheered on the torch in Amherstburg, where cannons were fired to salute the flame when it arrived at historic Fort Malden. The throng lining Front Road in LaSalle went wild when Howe ran with the torch.
