You can check to see if he's been online - with it being NYE and all that, a lot of people are out with friends ringing in the new year rather than being online. If he's been online in the last while and not responding to messages, move on to the next guy, but if he hasn't been online give him a while and a chance to respond. Hope that helps!

Sometimes I have found you might be working with someone who is working on many trades all at the same time, and doesn't have all the time in the world.
If that's the case I always give a reminder we were working on a trade sometimes up to a week later, and if you don't receive a reply even after all that time then for sure I would move on.Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

According to your last post... it looks like you already made the trade with someone else. There are a couple of ways to look at your original question. 1st you can look at it from a legal stand point. If you have not entered a trade agreement, then you don't have to wait at all.
However, there's another way to look at it. How would you want to be treated? Say you were trading for a card that you've been wanting for years... and you finally find a person who has it. You start trade negotiations... then you go to work or school, then to a family function, and finally you're so tired that you fall asleep without checking your email. 24 hours pass... and when you get back online, the guy tells you he traded the card away. Personally, I would be bummed... that's why I would give the person at least a couple of days... especially since it's the holiday season.
Have a safe and happy 2010.
