High End Football Breaks - AWESOME PULL

I treated myself to some of the newer higher end Football product and actually had some great luck:

One Pack of 2004 Pristine Football:

    Base Cards:
    12 - J Horn
    17 - B Leftwich
    33 - Brad Johnson
    41 - D Culpepper

    RC's:
    60 - B Berrian
    79 - D Darling #847/999
    121 - M Moore Uncirculated Ref #215/499

    Memorabilia Card:
FF-SM S Moss Fantasy Favorites Green Jersey Swatch

Three Packs of 2004 Absolute Memorabilia Football:

    Base Cards (#1150):
    29 - Rudi Johnson
    32 - Andre Davis Spectrum #13/100
    45 - A Lelie
    55 - R Ferguson
    98 - W Chrebet
    120 - D Staley
    136 - K McCardell

    Inserts:
TT-83 Terence Newman - Tools of the Trade #176/250
MOF-25 Torry Holt - Marks of Fame #875/1000

    Memorabilia Cards:
    161 - BJ Symons AU #664/750
GF-14 Jamal Lewis Gridiron Force Jersey White Swatch #81/100
TAN -17 Jermey Shockey & Kerry Collins Team Tandem Dual Jersey's #21/25 (Shockey Prime Red and Blue Patch w/stiching & Collins White Patch)

One Box 2004 Topps Finest Football (3 Mini Boxes):

    Pack 1:

    12 - Rookies including: L Fitzgerald, K Winslow
101 - P Manning Authentic Game Worn Jersey White Swatch

    Pack 2:

12 - Rookies including: Will Smith Ref 152/199, D Watts, M Mauck, DeAngelo Hall, Julius Jones and Reggie Williams
    108 - Ben Roethlisberger Auto #357/399 - NFT

    Pack 3:

    25 - M Vick Gold Ref #2/50
    9 - Rookies including: G Jones, T Lehman & Dunta Robinson
    130 - JP Losman Ref Auto #140/199 - NFT

All in all I was a little disapointed after the Pristine Pack and the 3 Absolute Memoribilia packs. When the first pack of Finest only had an unnumbered Payton Manning Jersey card I thought I was in for another big money investment for cards I could have purchased on the secodary market for $20. Then obviously, when I saw Big Ben's distinctive Autograph in the 3rd Pack of the second Finest box I could not belive it. After that I did not expect much from the last box of Finest but was happy with the Vick #'d to 50 and thrilled with the Losman Auto numbered to 199 (since I'm a Buffalo Fan and really liked what I saw of Losman in Training Camp and the preseason).

These pulls on top of the fact that I thought I had my pull of the year a few weeks ago when I got a 2 Color Eli Manning Fleer Hot Prospects Autograph are beginning to make me think my luck is changing...I hope I did'nt just jinx myself by saying that...

I think I will try to complet the Finest base Rookie set since they are not too expensive or hard to come by and they are very nice looking.

As far as the Big Ben...the AU's #399 are selling for $200 - $300 on Ebay...so I'm tempeted but I think I going to keep it and maybe get it graded. After all, I would probably spend the $300 and not have a chance of getting a card close to the long term potential of the Roethlisberger (I know I could probably repurchase one in the off-season for 1/2 the current going price but will not take the chance).

Well anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my long story...

    Joe
