    Anyone ever....

Pull a tough card of a Random player and start a collection? Pulled a Colin Wilson BD Gold today, my first limited rookie pull ever (well I guess the Ryan Parent Ultimate Shield would count). Has anyone ever had a pull like this and started a PC, even though the player is on another team you dont follow?

I once had a small Wolski PC after I pulled an 06-07 MVP Super Script 01/25. At that time I just began collecting again and was excited to pull such a low numbered card of a decent young player. I had a decent Wolski PC but eventually traded away everything except the Super Script which I still have.

That's kinda how it started with Palffy. I was always pulling his Inserts, and getting dupes of his base, that it became a no brainer for me. Also that I liked how he played, and I loosely followed him before that. Now he's tearing it up back in his homeland of Slovakia.
Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

Thats how my Brandon Sutter PC started, got a few packs of 08-09 stuff on christmas and ended up getting his yg and mvp, both out of blasters. then i decided to get a hobby box of ultra and guess who pops out as my redemption? lol, i've traded most of his stuff since then but i plan on keeping these 3. but if i get another mid-high end box and pull something rare that's what i plan on doing lol.

Colin Wilson would be a great player to have a PC of. First of all he was a really high draft pick and is a big boy who has a lot of potential. He has not started off on fire and has spent most of his first pro year in the AHL. The Preds have some killer patches as well. Get him while he is still a common.

I pulled the bottom right. It was the first big hit I pulled, but I didn't realize it at the time:

That led me to collect the rest, and these too:

I'm still missing one though. I also learned something about Clarke (he was in the card I pulled) 4 years later and I've sort have got a mini-Pc of that guy. Don't ever let your first big hit go though. You'll never get it back. As for collecting them... Well, here's my first patch hit:

I don't think I'll ever collect that guy. But I won't give up that card.

    Cheers,
    reoddai
