    2009/2010 retail

My brother birthday is coming. He´s 10 and just opening packs and getting base cards of his favourite players is exciting enough for him (he actually screamed "check this out" when he pulled a prestige insert of Shaq, making me think for a second it was a Griffin auto or something...), so i want to buy him a box from 09/10, but it has to be retail because i´m short on cash.

I haven´t bought any retail this season so i´ll welcome your advice

try Target if you can find 08-09 SP blaster. They go for 7.99, and 1 RC GU for sure. I do not know much 09-10 box

I'd say get him Upper Deck First Edition - really cheap and a bunch of inserts or...
Panini - the first release. Both really in-expensive and fun for kids to open.

Panini's $10 retail box, no GU I don't think and maybe if your really lucky an auto, but for the most part I think it's just base and a few inserts.

Thanks for the tips, probably going with Panini as i think he´ll like the stickers. If i can get cheap shipping, i´ll also buy some UD first edition.
