New Collector, Want to Set Build Help!

Hey guys, I am not new to cards but I am starting to shift into hockey. I need some help with a set to collect though. Game Used or should I try something like Black Diamond sub set? I was just curious and willing to try anything within my budget (cheaper stuff).

    Thanks!

Maybe try something simple like a low-end Rookie set, or maybe an insert set.

I like to keep it cheaper as well and I did the SP Authentic Holo FX set. It started in 07-08 (Cards 1-42) then continued in 08-09 (43-84) and now I believe it will continue.

    Try a cool insert like:

    SPA Holo FX
    SPA Notables
    Fleer Ultra eX

Or possibly a low-end Rookie set like MVP

Then once you get that done, try a GU set

You're going to laugh... but I love to build sets from the 90's... since wax boxes are really cheap now. For example... 97/98 Pinnacle Bee Hive (they're oversized, but you get at least 1 autograph per box, 1 out of 2 boxes have 2 autographs) or some of the Pinnacle Certified stuff (I love those mirror cards).

Try 09-10 Series 1 Clearly Canadian... Thsoe are sick. For baseball do Topps Chrome rookie autos, as they can be had for 15 bucks or less.
