I've noticed so many little subsets, and even full sets like Bowman's Best, that have no card numbers. Just letter codes for the players.

This is tolerable for GU when very few or no people are going to try and collect everything, but in many cases the codes are being used for fairly common cards like the 2005 Topps Dem Bums inserts.

I really wish the companies would just stick to numbers in these instances. If there are 25 or 30 cards to collect, I want to be able quickly identify what I need, and what I don't.

The worst was the 2003 Topps Red and Blue backs. You couldn't tell what the card was without the checklist or a copy of Beckett. This sort of thing should be limited to one card per set, like the NNO of ARod in the Cracker Jack set.
