2 more returns today........... But they were unsigned

Ron Yary, sent via the HOF returned in my SASE.. just didnt sign it, But did use my SASE as a coffee coaster. Glad he got some use out of my SASE..

& Floyd Little.. sent a note back saying " Things have changed since his Election to the HOF. I will no longer sign items for free " also request $15.00 for cards & ect...

Bummer.. have had a very rough patch for TTM. starting to get alot more returns with unsigned cards & REFUSED RTS. gets frustrating..

Makes you wonder if any of these guys sending back unsigned would sign if you slipped a $5 in there or something. Then you run the risk of wasting more stamps or having guys keep your money, which seems to be happening to me a little bit. Sent to Charley Taylor with $5 and it's been a while, and Yale Lary has returned a few since mine which doesn't really look too good. I'm about to send to Little myself though, he will sign for $10 most of the time despite his request of $15. It goes to an education fund for underprivileged kids or something..

I might try both guys again another time. I'll try the $5 request first see where that goes. Most guys are charging $10 or more it seems for there sigs on simple penny base cards. Its up to them on what they charge & us as fans to determine if its worth it in our eyes but in mine, I prolly wouldnt go much higher then $5 unless someone like Bart Starr had a fire sale & signed everything for $10 or something lol

I can understand why to charge.. It keeps their fan mail at a decent volume, they can make a little extra money, a lot of the older guys aren't rich or anything, it prevents some collector fraud, but I do think anything over $10 is a little much to ask. If I can get them, it's worth it to me but everyone is different. I don't try many baseball HOF'ers because I don't wanna pay $30, $50, or $100 for a sig.
