    Panini HRX Video Cards

While much of the sports collecting world descended upon Rosemont, Ill., last week for the 32nd Annual National Sports Collectors Convention, others around the country enjoyed a National experience from the comfort of their own living rooms compliments of FOX News Channel.

I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about these. It's a cool little concept but is it really a hockey card at this point? At the same time, it would be nifty to be able to watch this sort of thing over and over and over again on a little autographed thingie:

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

This has to be one of the worst concepts of card collecting there is. It don’t see a collecting aspect to it. It’s a video, not a card. If I wanted to see a video I will go online to do this or watch better highlights some where else. I don’t need such expensive mini screen of a single video that last for 10 seconds. How this thing is worth anything is beyond me. They should stick to making more appealing and well designed cards the proper way.

Imagine the battery running out… lol, another junk item.

I can see this card on a futuristic Pawn Stars going like this. “What do you have here sir?” “I have a 2011 video sports card of _______” “Wow, I remember these… they were such a fail cause eventually the batteries will run out. No one collected these cause it didn’t reflect the hobby and what collector’s wanted.”…. “There kinda odd ball item… how much do you want for it.” “It kinda old (old technology), how about a 100 bucks?” … “No way man, I can give you 10 bucks and it is going to sit in my shop for 5 years.”

Is it me or they finished the recording a bit too late, the reporter looks like he's about to say that's it a dumb concept XD

    Gross, Fox Nexs...

Looks like there's a mini USB port on the side so that would solve the battery problem. It's an interesting concept, wouldn't really appeal to me personally though.

Yeah it's USB powered, thank god !

I wouldn't buy one, but if I ever pull one I'll be happy to see it in action for sure, dumb, but interesting concept...

Wait up folks... I have to charge my card up before I send it to you.

Need me to upload a new video on it as well?

Perhaps some ACDC music to go a long with it.

    ...

... I have to charge up my hobby items now and potentially there might be bugs in my hockey card LOL

Don't look too closely at the screen or for long hours, the hockey card may cause eye-sight problems.

    ...

Don't forget... shipping these items. Labelled as hockey cards or the classic "photos"... you think customs is going to believe you when they scan it. Yeah right...

These things are taking it a bit too far. They are gadgets, not cards.
