Another reason to stay away from GU Patch Auto stuff. You just can't trust the companies who put these things together too much.

woah woah woah...if they used that as a "Vanek" jersey...whos to say that the rest of the jersey was vaneks? they probly cut up the whole thing and sorted it for vanek jerseys/patches/tags...i mean...shouldn't they clarify that? what happened to the rest of the jersey?

It's certainly possible and it's for mistakes like that that explain why the terminology on the back of many cards say the jersey was used in an official NHL game. Rather than saying it was worn by (insert player's name) in an official NHL game. It's interesting to see how the wording on the back of cards have changed in the last 10 years. Companies sometimes used to exaplin the exact game a jersey was worn on the back of a card, and now the wording is so loose for legal purposes in case there is a mistake.

Anybody else notice the Igor Larionov Limited Logos in one of those photos? Not only is he there but they used a Detroit gamer instead of some legends jersey or something. That is a great addition to the usual stable, hopefully there are more to come.

This.. Super pumped for these, he also has a Sig Patches, which is short printed. The professor was one of my favorite Red Wings growing up, and I'll definitely be snagging anything he has in this release!

All in all still nice cards, but for the price you have to pay you expect less blatant erroer than that (although Vanek has been known to block a shot or two)

if youre being sarcastic though, i'll just say, for a 400.00 item, i think its fair to ask for a mistake free item.

How many people have never made a mistake at their job, ever? If so, then I applaud you, but I'll say it's probably fair to assume that 99% of us haven't lived up to those expectations.

Either way, it's fair to demand a mistake-free item due to the high price, but it's simply not realistic. Sadly, mistakes happen.

Personally, I would rather talk about the 50 beautiful cards that they have shown us over the last day or so than the one mistake that they already have corrected by assuring it will never be packed into any product.
