    Good bounce back win tonight.

Verlander was just being Justin Verlander. Win #18. 7.2 innings 1 run 8 strikeouts as he builds his lead in the cy young race and builds his case to be in the MVP discussion.

Offense broke out alittle tonight. Cabrera had 3 RBI, Avila had a few hits and a couple walks, Jackson had a few hits/walks also. Santiago with a solo homer. Good overall game.

3 game home series vs Cleveland starts tommorow.

    Scherzer vs Tomlin
    Fister vs Huff
    insert starter here vs Ubaldo

I see 2 wins here easily. A sweep is very possible, I look forward to the series.

Where are these two easy wins? Tomlin, who is a stud, Huff who has pitched pretty outstanding thus far, or your unknown starter against Ubaldo? Looks like two wins easily for Cleveland...

Tomlin who has never pitched well against Detroit, and Huff, who has never pitched well against Detroit, add in its a home series.

I'll stick with Scherzer/Fister over those two.

I think Huff has like turned a 180 from last year...an ERA of 0.52 in three starts this year definitely has me excited. That, and Fister isn't exactly Verlander. Plus Tomlin is a guaranteed 5+ innings everytime out...I think all three games will be close, but the Indians take 2 of three.

5 innings doesn't mean you'll get a good 5 innings. and Huff's minor league numbers before getting called up weren't overly impressive, so his first 3 starts don't make me think he's Verlander like you seem to think. (3.87 ERA in 18 AAA starts this season)

I never crowned Fister as Justin Verlander 2.0, I'll take him all day over Huff though.

Indians are a mediocre road team and Tigers are a good home team, Cleveland fans should be happy winning 1 of 3.

Tomlin has been very strong this year, so I'm expecting him to keep that up...he hasn't been roughed up this year, and Cleveland is in just about every start of his. Against Detroit, I'll take being in the game.

Honestly, David Huff is a complete wild card. Leads Cleveland in wins one year, then in losses the next. Comes out firing this year...I don't know what to expect, but he's seemed dominant so far this year; hopefully he can be decent at least...I'd take a decent Huff over Fister, personally.

Tigers love lefty's (not named Bruce Chen or JoJo Reyes) so i'm fine with Huff pitching.

Thats why they play the game though. Not sure how the Indians could realistically be favored though on the road, doesn't make much sense other than homerism

Haha you are correct...my optimism is about 90% based on homerism. Tribe are on a bit of a roll though, so we'll just have to see how things go. I'm hoping for a sweep, and optimistically expecting two of three.
