Once they pick it up, it's their responsibility. This whole mess is unreal for an established company. One I will never use because of this whole fiasco.
Were the police ever able to get the ebay mambers name from ebay???
Anything to go on at all?

Well if they lost it after they picked it up, it sounds like they are trying the old bait and switch trick. Who knows-they may suddenly find it with the card still inside a brand new envewlope. Wouldn`t that be wierd?

Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are going through with this card. I hate to see anything get stolen let alone expensive cards. When I was reading this thread (a long but good read) I was hoping it came to a happy resolution but was sad to see it had not (yet at least) For packages going over the border, just like people, some are randomly inspected, some are chosen for destination/origin, and some through profiling. So I would not be surprised if the package was opened and then chosen to be stolen.
I have a few thoughts about this. I know a package switches may hands but does it not also get scanned at each hub/location. I am sure the person who opened the package is on record. I can't see a company handle items like that without knowing who opened and inspected the items. If this is the case it would be interesting to know if the person involved had multiple occurrences of this nature.
As for UPS, you are probably being too polite. The hole situation is unacceptable. For dealing with any large company I have a very quick and to the point conversation and I don't waste my time anymore.
Them: Hello, how can I help you?
Me: Hi, I have having this issue........(very quick recap of the issue) do you have the authority to refund my money or resolve this problem?
Them: No but I am sure I can help you.
Me: Thank you but please connect me to someone who can help me.
Rinse and repeat until you get someone who can do something. I have wasted so much time explaining situations to someone only to have them refer me to their boss 20 min later so I can explain everything again. Giant waste of time! Talk to those who can make a decision and they are much more likely to do so. Good luck!
