I didn't forget at all, but I think he has a MUCH better chance at pitching well than Burnett does.
Side note, why in the world is Girardi leaving Arod in the cleanup spot?

Ehh, Porcello doesn't "implode" as much as AJ, but AJ has better stuff and could potentially shut down Detroit. Not likely, but I can see that, before I see Porcello shut down the Yanks. I doubt either of that happens, and it is a 6-6 game in the 4th haha.
As for Girardi, I dunno what that guy thinks. A-Rod should be hitting 5th or 6th. Cano/Tex/Swisher are the ideal 3-4-5 hitters now. Also, I would love to know why Ayala pitched the 9th last night....Ok if his excuse was to save Mo/Drob/Soriano....but bring in Hughes....at least Hughes has the potential for great stuff....Ayala just straight up blows lolol

I don't believe either starter has shut down the other team before. Burnett's best start was his last one with the 7 innings 2 earned (5 total). Porcello also had his best start in his last one vs NYY with 7 innings 2 earned runs. (8 hits and 4 walks though)
I was just saying I think its more likely Porcello can win than Burnett could because I simply think Burnett isn't very good, and I wouldn't trust him if the Yankees were down 2-1 in the series tommorow.

Tonight is a very important game. I feel whoever wins tonight is going to take the cake. Reason being is that if either team can put up runs against 2 of the top pitchers in the AL they should be good to go against anybody else.

To me, the difference between Porcello and Burnett is just consistency. Burnett is far more likely to throw a no-hitter than Porcello, but he's also far more likely to get pulled in the 2nd inning. It's a coin flip, and as long as Girardi pulls the trigger early enough, it's a gamble worth taking. But I'd hate to be AJ after he gives up 6 runs in the 3rd tomorrow :)
Ayala has been great this year. I don't think that was a bad decision. It was hands down a better call to bring in a reliever with an ERA that hovered around 2 all year than a starter who has been awful.

Excuse me while I laugh for 5 minutes. First off, relievers ERA is a total crap shoot, yes it was low, but the dude couldnt get womens softball players out right now. Ayala has been AWFUL. Save for some blowout wins that he pitched in, the dude hasnt thrown a meaningful clean inning since August. I understand Hughes started off terribly. BUT, what dod he do in his last 7 starts or so to deserve to be passed over by ayala. No way Ayala is worth a spot on the roster or a spot in last nights game. Sorry, even ignoring hughes in the pen. Bring in robertson or soriano at that point. Neither has pitched in almost a week!
Anywho, im not saying AJ is reliable or anything, he sucks. Lol. Im just saying its aj vs porcello. So im not worried. He might not pitch well. But they can beat porcello in spite of AJ
