JJJ5278's success thread...ROMLBs
So I decided to make the official success thread and then just update this one as I get returns. I will throw my Virgil Trucks success here and then update w/ my today return below!
So after getting a little advice from from a member on another site, I decided to send a ROMLB to Virgil Trucks. I included a note mentioning his nickname and his two no-hitters. I sent it out on 9/19/11 and today I received this in the mail:

He also included a handwritten note explaining how he got his nickname and how you don't think about throwing a no-hitter until the 7th inning on. He also included one of his cards signed in Sharpie. Needless to say I was super pumped to get it back and w/ the note and card. A truly generous guy. I have about 12 signed baseballs in my collection (only one TTM, but a couple IP ones) and this one is definitely my favorite!!

Today's return, HOF style!!
Total 13 day turnaround, however the postmark on it was 10/5/11 so for some reason to return trip took 6 days. Awesome to get a HOFer TTM, can't go wrong w/ that!! Anyway here it is:

Great return! Probably took so long due to the holiday which would make it a 4 day trip.

Mr. Trucks is one of the best Old Timers that sign. Did he send you any extras?

howiek- Yeah he added a card of his own and a note that he also signed. He has been my best success so far (out of two, haha). I am sure no one will beat his return.

Me too, it displays awesome and really stands out amongst the others. I have seen some where he signed it in red sharpie but mine is in red ink so no worries w/ it soaking in.

So I guess my third one I sent out isn't coming back. Carl Erskine lives like 6 hours from me but its been almost a month and no return. Everyone else have gotten theirs back pretty quick so I'm assuming this one is gone. I'll try a couple more and hopefully have some positive results.

Maybe he hates living in the midwest as much as I do, hahaha. I don't really hate it, just the harsh winters. The address in the TTM manager said IL for the state but the PO said that zip code is for IN so maybe thats the problem??
